Cuckoo-Store Engine: A Reed–Solomon Code-Based Ledger Storage Optimization Scheme for Blockchain-Enabled IoT

As the distributed ledger technology underlying cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum, blockchain has empowered various industries, supply chain management, healthcare, government services, e-voting, etc. However, ever-growing on each node been main bottleneck for scalability network scale expands, which worsens in blockchain-enabled IoT scenarios with resource-limited devices. With support of Reed–Solomon (RS) code, Cuckoo-Store (CS), a storage optimization engine, is proposed this paper to dramatically decrease burden by encoding data segments redundancy distributing them multiple nodes. These can be collected decoded using RS code recover original ledger. Furthermore, Cuckoo filter (CF) used guarantee integrity encoded segments, helps detect forged facilitates process recovery. Theoretical analysis simulation results show that CS engine more than 94%, recovered efficiently acceptable communication overheads.
